Default Bentleys needed again for croydon it's not good

Yesterday Croydon was a bit listless but ate his breakfast and drank some milk he was not too interested in dinner he ate a little. Today he started drinking water in excess and vomited it up twice. At first I just thought I would keep an eye on him for the day but he was too listless to go for his walk. Tonight he would not eat his dinner at all and it was his favourite turkey mince with veges. He then drank more water and vomited it up and would not stop panting just wandering around like he was drunk. I lay him down and felt all over him and he was very sensitive when I touched the area around his stomach and intestines. He then just dropped to the floor drooling. I immediately rang the big Animal Hospital and was told to bring him in immediately. He was seen as soon as we arrived and his temperature was up by 2 degrees which is not too good. They also noted extreme tenderness around the abdominal area and given the last 2 major incidents Croydon has had the first the lip of a yoghurt container tearing his stomach liner and the second toxic poisoning from eating industrial lime with a large piece lodged in the small intestine they are concerned. Obviously he has been admitted and tests will be conducted tonight and tomorrow to rule out certain things. I am praying he doesn't have cancer again. Well the one good thing is that on the 8th October the Pet Insurance renewed Croydon's insurance it was $1,200 but after they had paid out over $15,000 for his last admissions I am just glad they renewed him. Please send as many Bentleys as you can for my darling Croydon he is my world and I know he is nearly 14 years old but I am not ready to lose him yet he's my rock, my best friend and always there for me now I have to be here for him. I could just tell from the way the vet was acting that she was worried and it's really rubbed off on me ANNE AND A VERY SICK CROYDON

Further update on Croydon well there is good news and bad news he doesn't have cancer or any infections. However his liver is failing and there is nothing much they can do about it. At the moment he also has pain in his joints but the medications they can give him are severely limited due to his liver damage. The one thing that can help slow down his liver failing quicker is increasing his diabetes incipidis meds to 3 times a day and there is one pain killer they can administer which can make him sleepy but all dogs react differently, some have no reaction at all just pain relief. Basically they will be making him comfortable and pain free. How long I have left with him is unknown. The specialist said it could be years or it could be much less but whatever I will always do what is right for my darling Croydon and if it is his time I would never let him suffer. I picked him up tonight he was so happy to be coming home with me and the special pain meds which had to be ordered in will be there for me to collect by tomorrow midday. I know when he is in pain he has this way of telling me he is lying down and he looks up at me and raises his paw up to me and just looks at me with teary eyes it breaks my heart. I guess we know each other so well it's the same when I'm not well he always knows and licks me and paws me or lays with me with his head on my lap. Croydon is one of those dogs with the weirdest, funniest personality ever. He is so smart and plans everything he does his main objective has always been ways to stop me going out from hiding one of each shoe of a pair how he works that out it beyond me, he tries to take my handbag outside the doggy door when he knows I am changing my clothes until I got a bag that wouldn't fit. And you all know about how he dealt with the mean dog next door pissing in his mouth after he had tried to befriend him for a year oh there are so many funny stories about him he really is a one of a kind dog that just loves people and other dogs. To lose him is going to take a huge piece of my heart away but I am going to treasure every minute I have left with him. Please keep the Bentleys lit and him in your prayers that I have a bit more time with him before he has to go to the Rainbow Bridge but I know Boo will look after him if that happens Anne and my best friend Croydon

Anne, I know you will do the right thing by your boy, whenever the time comes, and maybe he will even pass peacefully at home; I know we all wish for that, when they have to leave us. You have a heart chock-full of wonderful memories of precious times spent with him, and that will see you through. You are so good for each other. And, I'm certain Boo is watching over both of you right now!

Anne, we all wish our dog lived as long as we did, but we have to face losing them much sooner than we want. The main thing is that we want to give them the best lives possible and to keep them pain free until the end. Thank you for sharing some of the wonderful memories that you have of Croydon and cherish the time that you have left together. You have given Croydon a wonderful life and I'm sure he loves you as much as you love him.

Hi everyone I have been very upset of late but thought it was time for an update on my darling boy Croydon. He had a big set back the weekend before last he was on the floor panting, drooling and crying and he couldn't get up which was stressing him out. I had to get a neighbour to help me get him into my dad's car as it is lower than my 4WD and I had called ahead to the hospital and they were waiting for him when we got there. He was put on a stretcher and taken into the lift up to the Intensive care resus exam room. They gave him an injection to slow his heart rate and then did an emergency Ultrasound and X-Ray. The ultrasound showed the same results as the last one his liver was failing but the X-Ray revealed that he had a lot of inflammation in his joints which would be causing him a lot of pain. They said this turn is purely pain related so he was given a big injection of Methadone which worked wonders whilst it made him groggy he was able to get up and walk around. He was already on 100mg of Tramadol once per day. The big problem is they can't give him any arthritis medications as they will deteriorate his liver very fast. They have now upped his dose of Tramadol as much as they can safely for his liver 100mg tablet at night and a 50mg tablet in the morning and they have given me 5 injections of methadone to give him one if he gets extreme pain again however I have to advise them before I give it to him for a register as this is a controlled drug. I haven't had to use any of them yet which is good. The small increase in the tramadol seems to be helping a lot. However he now wants to come upstairs to be with me at night and he gets stuck at about stair 3 so I have to help him up then lift him up onto the lounge. I have been sleeping out on the lounge with him. He seems to want me there all the time and cries if I go to the shop or an appointment. I have really had to put my life on hold but I also want to spend as much time as possible with him. I posted his situation on Facebook and the replies from my old neighbours in Batemans Bay made me feel better. Mambo was his best friend before we got Brock they were the odd twins with the same birthday he is a wiry haired Jack Russel and is 2 years older than Croydon and also not well. His other friend Jenna another ACD is also in a bad way and Tanbark was the friend of Croydon's who was taken by a shark. Erica Mambos owner said well they are all old men and I have told her about the Rainbow Bridge "Well it seems that soon the whole gang will be back together again playing at the Rainbow Bridge I'm sure Tanbark is waiting up there for them to arrive. It made me feel better in an odd way because they were all together every day. I hope I have a lot more time with Croydon but when his time comes I will know he will be with his friends and that is a blessing. I will miss him so so so much and nothing will ever fill that void as Croydon is too unique and thinks he is a person. We have had a great life together and he's my best friend but no matter what his memory and his smiling face will never leave me. Anne and my darling Croydon whose left a pawprint on my heart

Anne, I'm so sorry Croydon has had a set back. Bonny's Bentley is on high.

Have you looked into laser treatments? I'm getting those for Bonny Zali and they do seem to be helping her. Acupuncture can also help with pain.

You have been the best ever mom to Croydon. Whenever it's his time to go to the Bridge, he will literally have the best of both worlds - he will be with his buddies, but he also will not leave you, as he will forever be tucked inside your heart. We have our Bentleys on high here for your dear Croydon. I know that you will be there for him.
