What ball is suspended there? Anyone recognize it?

I'm thinking of rigging up something like this for Hollie come spring, but want a good weight ball that's Hollie-proof (well, as much as possible) and safe (not too heavy to knock her out, or too hard to break teeth) type of ball.

Any other suggestions on suspending it? Would a swivel gizmo be better than just a rope loop over the tree branch?

Not sure but it looks very similar to a product called "Home Alone" that you can purchase online but which is expensive - http://www.ozpetshop.com.au/product_info.php/products_id/625

It could also be a type of Jolly Ball which has been adapted - http://www.dogtoys.com/jollypets.html

A swivel hook works best - BUT - I would also caution you to put a length of PVC pipe over the rope at the top of the ball, so that it cannot get accidentally wrapped around your dog's neck and strangle him.

Oh, thank you! VERY good suggestion about the PVC pipe!

I use the 8" Jolly Ball - & a leash. I really like the suggestion of putting pvc pipe over the rope b/c the smartie pants learn to grab the rope and not the ball so they can get ahold of it.
