It's a true story, but I'm not sure if you're looking for a purely informational/historical book about ACDs, or a story like this one. If you search "8 State Kate" or "8 State Hurricane Kate" on this forum, you'll find past threads about this book. I also recently got the book "A Dog Called Blue: The Australian Cattle Dog and the Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog 1840-2000", by Noreen R. Clark. I haven't read it all the way through yet, but it's a very interesting book about the history of the breeds in Australia.
