After $1300 in testing and lab work (including a special lab in San Diego), Brumby's masticular disease is now in remission. She doesn't close her mouth all the way (its open about 1/4"), and does a lot of snorting, and gacking, but there is no pain and she still loves her bones, altho meat bones are best for her slightly limited chewing ability.

On the other hand, she appeared swollen to me, as her waist was irregular and I thought her paws looked puffy. Turns out her two jaw lymph nodes were severely enlarged. They tested for lymphoma, and did xrays and ultrasounds for masses. No masses and yea! no lymphoma. So she is on 2x a day prednisone for 30 days, and I'm to report back to the specialist vet in the next 7 days how she is reacting to the pred.

We're moving in 14 days, so I really didn't want to have my baby failing during these turbulent times. She is very very concerned about what momma is doing with the boxes, and paper, and tape.

Tough cattle dogs....
