So, our foster girl Maggie was returned to us last night from the family that adopted her. She was basically returned for being a cattledog (needed to play...yup, she does need to play). So she gets back here with my two and moves right back in like she'd never left or like we'd "accidentally" left her somewhere for a week and a half.

I tell this to my friend and she says to me "Cattledogs don't have owners, they have hostages". :roll1:

I nearly hurt myself laughing so hard.

OMG too funny. Bet we could come up with a bunch of doozies on that theme:
Cattledogs don't have owners, they have slaves.

Oh my gosh, that is the funniest thing I've ever heard about this breed, and so true it hurts! I'm going to have to ask to use that one--please!!

And yes, I got a foster back that I had last year, the first couple of days it was like she was "war worn" from her past, however, now she is just like she never left--happy, has her place in the pack, it's like the past months didn't exist. The resilence of this breed, amazing. And how easily they capture us and make us hostages--that's even more amazing. :roll1:

I'd rather be a heeler's hostage than the owner of any other breed! :)

Looks like we have a new "slogan" to add to the many others. I keep cracking up every time I think of this.

Oh dingoridge you can ABSOLUTELY use this one.

It's so true it HURTS.

She had also become the alpha at her new home and I don't think she was mature enough to understand that kind of power and here she is number 3 (and that's just in the canine pack) and she seems more secure being told what to do by Ding (who takes EVERYONE hostage).

Oh how true is that statement I am a hostage and a slave Croydon decides at some time never the same time but always around 5 or 6pm it is dinner time and he demands that he be fed and wont let up until I feed him if I dont have his usual dinner which is usually his biscuits and some other food either mince and veges I cook for him or chicken necks he protests pushing the dish around refusing to eat just the biscuits My darling Croydon who I love dearly has not at any time during his life actually realised he is a dog he thinks he is a person but I couldnt do without him all his annoying demands and all Anne:thumb_yello:

Uh Oh, clearly this is evidence of Stockholm Syndrome infecting hostages on this forum.

Yep, I'm a Stockholm Syndrome victim, totally infected with paw print evidence all over me. :paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw: :paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw::paw:

I've been a hostage and or slave since 1981 and I would not change a thing. I love this breed more and more each day.
