We drove to California for the NASCAR race. On the way home the next day, we made a two hour detour to the Merced shelter. We picked up a baby male. We named him Kasey Kahne after the driver that won the race.

We know all about ACD pups and are trying to be careful. He is in the laundry room/dog run when we are not home. We still woke up this morning to a box of cheerios that had been shredded and strewn across the entire house. He was very quiet. My hubby is also down a baseball cap and gardening gloves. I am going to make sure that his adopter researches the breed before he goes anyplace. He will need a job!

A couple interesting side notes. He has clipped nails. I have never had a rescue with his nails clipped. I guess his owners could not handle him.
He also watches tv all the time. He sits on the dog bed in front of the tv and he looks like a human. The rest of the time he has the zooooomies!

He has a happy look on his face! Brumby watches TV all the time, and goes crazy when there is an animal on the tube. The other two don't even lift their heads up....

KK is adorable! Thanks for swinging by to get him! Mind if I print this out and give it to John to take by Petty's shop this week? He's going by to get one of Kasey's chassis. I think they'd love to see this!

Tell him to snag a Kasey-touched item for me!! I love all those commercials with the women fantasizing about him, I kinda feel like one of them...lol:roll1:

I know you and I have discussed racing before, but "John is going to Petty's shop to pick up Kasey's chassis" makes me need a paper sack to breath in!! I have not missed a race since 1992.
I am from CA. Jeff Gordon was and still is my GOD! I have many drivers that I like, including Kasey.

Thank you for saving another dog! Our Ozzie originally came from the Merced shelter, too. It is one of the worst shelters. An independent rescuer had just pulled him from the shelter the day before he was scheduled to be PTS. She took him directly to her vet for neutering, and I picked him up from the vet's office. So basically I was the first home he came to after spending 4 weeks in the Merced shelter. If and when our "temporary" border (the big black lab) goes back to her rightful owner, we will be looking for a new ACD rescue. You never know - Ozzie might be related to your new rescue since they both came out of the Merced area. I think Ozzie is mixed with border collie.

I love the name, and the video was awesome! Both dogs were having so much fun. I wish you lived closer so that Darcy and Kasey could play, other dogs always run out of steam before Darcy does! :)

LOL! I love how gentle their wrestling was. They really weren't putting much bite on each other at all. Mine grab each other but the scruff on the neck and hold on tight- yet still manage to never leave a mark. Is KK as small as he looks or is Daisy just...well...fluffy? :biggrin2:

:naughty:KK is 20lbs. I have no idea what he is mixed with, but he is small. Daisy is very much mixed with lab and is 70lbs and on the fluffed side. Good call!

This was my first attempt at you tube. I took this with my camera. I am thinking I must get a camcorder. Kasey's zoomies are very funny!

Kasey kahne got adopted! I dropped him off at the vet to get his jewel removal. His new family picked him up. I am still waiting to hear how it is going. They have a eleven acre ranch. Five horses, six cats, three other dogs and two teenagers. Mom wants to take him on trail rides and do agility!
He chewed everything and had a habit of lifting his leg on the houseplants. He will be missed!
He chewed the leg of my dresser in my room. He left a calling card!
I LOVE YOU KASEY!

Great job with KK, Gwen! :thumb_yello: That was a short foster-hood for you.

So...when's the next one...?!? :naughty:

PS: I love the video! KK is adorable the way he "shakes it off" and then zooms back in to nip at Daisy's heel! :biggrin2:

New rescue/foster continued....I will picking up this guy on Monday!

Australian Cattle Dog/Blue HeelerMix
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Sex: Male
ID:

Notes:

K1 is a male Queensland Heeler mix. He is very sweet and loves to play with other dogs. He is good on a leash but does not like to be tied up to anything. He has lots of energy and would do well in a home with lots of room to run and play.
