Hi all!! I hope everyone is doing OK. We are doing very good enjoying the weather finally but im scared of the heat that is to come! lol Sandy is doing great!! her hair is finally starting to grow back on her neck from the cat scan. The only probelm we had with her is Lily STUPID tail.. it like truly HURTS when this dog whips you with her tail and Lily whipped Sandy in the eye ball with her tail and this isn't the first time this happened and when she walks by Sydney or Oscar they shut the eyes and duck because of her tail.. I hate this and I wish there was something I could do.. im not for docking tails but for pit bull or powerful breeds like her that would be around other dogs or kids or even elderly people I would certeinly do it! Sandy SCREAMS :banghead: in pain when Lily whips her and I get so mad but it's not fair to Lily she doesn't understand.. I wish I could jsut tape her tail to her leg lol .. not there's a sight :biggrin2:.
I have a quick question.. what do you all use for flea prevention. I had to use this brand called 'one spot' because Advantage is so expensive and only available at the vets and to give it out the vet wants to see each dog.. I can't afford that for four dogs. I feel bad for just using some brand I bought at the department store but I guess the dogs getting fleas would be much worse. Then the cat would get them.. the ferrets.. the rabbits. and I bet we'd have to flea bomb our house I get so scared of FLEAS lol
Anywho here's a few updated pics.. Sydney is 6 months now!!! it's weird he has a way bigger body then Oscar.. thicker chest, legs, bigger head, teeth, way bigger feet.. but he's still only as tall as Sandy.. and he has a really longgg neck.. lol I happen to think he's pretty ugly.. but he's my son and I love him anyways :wub2:

Here they are at the dog park.. Oscars bringing in the ball and some lil fuzzy bucket dog that stuck around the whole time lol Oscar was not impressed.

Oscars the fastest!

Oscar get so obessed with the ball he will just walk backwards in front of me shreekin his head off the whole time.. even if I don't got a ball. Here's his crazed look in between barks
http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs093.snc1/4681_105196155449_632720449_3220013_593976_n.jpg

Here's my girls in the morning sun! they have actually been getting along really well

Sandy's the queen.. lol Oscar lets her have the ball whenever she gets frisky..

Here's my boys... I think sydney is a perfect example of that bull terrier in the heelers history.. haha in some lines. btw that's Ocasrs chuck-it stick and his ball if you haven't noticed :naughty:
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs093.snc1/4681_105196205449_632720449_3220022_5604581_n.jpg

Lily Sydney and Oscar Sharing the water bowl

Now Lily and Sydney have a strong bond to each other. I can keep them in pairs.. Sydney and Lily outside in the kennel can stay out there for hours with hardly a peep.. but if you try to miss match the pairs and put oscar and Sydney together.. Oscar will cry for Sandy and Sydney will be mean to Oscar and start fights. Sandy's always with me. Plus Lilys the only one who can handle Sydneys 'lock jaw'.. he grabs on to any part of Oscar or Lily and doesn't let go no matter what I even seen them jump up in the air and try to slam Sydney off the ground.. but he still dont let go the little ****

Are you sure the vet needs to see them for flea prevention, or is that heartworm preventative?

It's terribly expensive here, but we bite the bullet and pay for it, because the treatment (for heartworm and fleas) is worse than the preventative.

I don't know if the One-Spot works; we tried Bio-Spot, and our golden (who is allergic to everything) had an allergic reaction to that.

I've stayed with Frontline- it is not perfect, but around here, I don't think anything will get rid of all the fleas. But after trying other products, I've had the best luck with Frontline. It is sold in feed stores- 3 viles for 39.99
Someone also bought it at a Cosco ( I've never seen that store) Frontline was at one time, only sold at the vets, but now you can buy it just about anywhere. Go to an on-line site like Petmeds and check the prices. Our feed store is cheaper than anything I've found online tho.
Btw- I've heard of some vets making clients come in every 6 months for heartworm pills- I would find another vet! My vet has never done that- for one thing, in this area, people would just stop using the pills. I run in a buy my Interceptor, when I need it- the vet doesn't even have to be there.

Thanks everyone. I DO need a new vet.. we have a very good vet but he lives an hour and half away in a small town no less..and my truck isn't running so well the price of gas is high and Sandy doesn't like long drives :( the vets in the city SUCK it seems like all they work for is the cash

If there's a rescue out there who can use them - send 'em on! But if no one claims what's left, I'll take 'em! (Rescues, put in your order...)

Already sent my leftover Frontline to R&R!!! :biggrin2: Lance wanted to help out another Lance (now Finn) and since there was no cash in his piggy bank we figured it would still be of value.

Don't any of your pet stores or feed stores carry Advantix or Frontline? Seems weird that only a Vet. would carry it. Of course the rules could be different. For a long time here only the vets carried those. Now feedstores and pet stores carry the products.

As for a vet seeing the dogs, I find that weird. I can just walk into my vet's office and buy the stuff.
